“May our work always be guided by the virtues of life that live within our hearts, rather than by the ego-driven desires of the restless mind.”
I’m Andrea Rao
Zenthai Shiatsu therapist and teacher, movement facilitator
With a background in physiotherapy and a Master’s degree in Sports Physiotherapy, my approach combines a scientific understanding of the body with the holistic practice of Zenthai Shiatsu.
Zenthai Shiatsu has deeply shaped my work, as well as how I live and relate to others.
Through this practice, I support people in reconnecting with their body, releasing tension, and finding a deeper sense of balance through movement and bodywork.
My work includes bodywork sessions as well as movement classes, and Zenthai Shiatsu courses, and workshops
The whole journey until here
My journey into this work began at 17, when a motorcycle accident left me with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus. Physiotherapy sparked my interest in the body and its capacity to recover, leading me to study physiotherapy and complete a Master’s degree in Sports Physiotherapy.
Over time, I moved beyond a purely clinical approach, exploring more integrated ways of working with the body through Traditional Thai Massage in Thailand, Zenthai Shiatsu in Australia, and Hatha Yoga in India.
I spent three years working with a professional rugby team in Italy, developing hands-on experience in a performance-focused environment.
Since then, I have worked across Australia, Italy, and Portugal, offering sessions, workshops, and retreats.
The beginning of Energy in Motion
At a certain point in my life, I realized I was living within patterns and habits that no longer felt right for me. Even though it was familiar, I chose to change direction.
I left my home country and started traveling, stepping away from my family, friends, and comfort zone. Through this experience, I got to know myself better, learned to trust my instincts, and grew in ways I hadn’t experienced before.
Along the way, I was introduced to meditation and developed a deeper awareness of my body and breath. I started taking more responsibility for how I lived, making more conscious choices around movement, health, and my daily life.
This process marked the beginning of a different way of living, which continues to shape both my personal life and the way I work with others today.
